That’s why every new student begins their journey with our Intro Class — a one-hour session designed to give you a true feel for our studio, our method, and the learning environment we’ve created with care.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this class, you won’t just pick up a pencil — you’ll begin to understand what it means to study art with purpose and structure.
HERE'S WHAT YOUR INTRO CLASS INCLUDES:
- Studio Tour: Get a full walkthrough of our space. Learn where all materials are located and familiarize yourself with our studio flow.
- Pencil Technique: Learn how to properly hold your pencil for accuracy and control — one of the most overlooked yet essential aspects of drawing.
- Eraser Training: Understand how to use your eraser as a drawing tool, not just for corrections.
- Warm-Up Exercises: Begin with flowing motion drills like the infinity symbol, ovals, and circles to loosen your hand and build control.
- Basic Shape Construction: Using simple props, we’ll guide you in seeing and breaking down complex forms into basic shapes — a foundational technique used across all mediums.
- First Figure Drawing: Combine your newly learned shapes to create your first structured sketch using observation and proportion.
